Are you a local leader who wants to break through a glass ceiling? Do you want to stand shoulder to shoulder with international colleagues and feel viewed as an equal? Do you enjoy working with well-intentioned international colleagues but feel frustrated by the norms and “dinosaur” systems of the International Development sector that are relics of the colonial era? I help local leaders overcome doubts, unlock hidden potential, get promoted, and help others succeed.I help local leaders succeed without doing things the same way. I help their colleagues in international organisations feel dignity as they create new opportunities for themselves and their organisations. I’m driven by values, and I have a track record of walking the talk. • I’ve served shoulder to shoulder with local leaders in international development for almost 20 years. • Throughout my career I’ve intentionally worked myself out of a job and equipped local leaders to successfully perform the role in almost all my overseas postings. • As Country Director I maintained local staff in positions of leadership and management for our emergency response after a Category 5 cyclone. We had deployed international staff reporting to our local staff. • I have a track record of changing organisational systems to better enable local leaders to thrive. Every single one of the leaders I’ve coached has experienced transformation. Every one of them is operating with increased leadership effectiveness. I’m selective of who I offer to work with. If we choose to work together, and if you're not convinced of the value you received when we’re done, I’ll refund you the full amount. --------------------(in case you're interested in more) Before I was a coach, I served as an executive leader and manager with almost 20 years experience leading multi-ethnic teams in challenging contexts in several countries across Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. I have particular interest and lived expertise in ways organisational leadership in complex contexts can effectively promote individual and organisational wellbeing, strategic and transformational leadership, and systematic improvement of organisational processes such that individuals and teams are better able to flourish.Challenge and adversity are no strangers in my life. I’m a cancer survivor, my wife has an autoimmune condition, and my eldest son has a constellation of “dis”-abilities---------------Want to talk?
