In a number of schools, I have built successful careers programmes where little existed before. I pride myself on being able to develop existing strengths within an organisation as well as working with senior leaders to launch new initiatives. Recently I have helped to develop a new programme of careers education and advice at Harrow School, a world-renowned boarding school in London. NHC is a 16-19 college that delivers a wide range of qualifications at four sites across Hertfordshire. My role was to ensure that students had access to high quality student support, careers advice and a range of enriching activities. • Student Services & Safeguarding: Managing a team of seven support coaches, CEIAG advisor and Finance Officer who offer a range of support to students across the college. All support tracked to show positive impacts on attendance, retention and student achievement. Lead for college safeguarding team. • Budgets and Bid: Responsible for an overall budget of £600,000 and for writing external funding bids. • Personal Development: Overseeing the delivery of the ‘Bridge Programme’. The role of IAG Manager required me to lead and manage several projects simultaneously. The aim was always to ensure pupils have a positive learning experience and leave school successfully prepared to move onto the right career and education pathways. My extra role as Head of Year for Year 11 required me to monitor pupil performance and the quality of teaching in order to guarantee the best outcomes for all pupils.• Improving quality of teaching: Monitoring teaching standards and working with subject teams to improve teaching provision and improve pupil outcomes.• Tracking Pupil Progress: Using data to monitor the progress of 225 pupils in Year 11. Then removing any barriers to education highlighted by their data.• Leading Careers Education and Guidance: Ensuring each pupil receives quality and impartial careers education throughout the curriculum and from extra-curricular events.• Managing the Gifted & Talented programme: Developing programmes to motivate and challenge top pupils.
