I was involved in all aspects of a surgical patient’s hospital stay in the operating room and on the inpatient orthopaedic floor, starting when they arrived for their procedure through to when they were discharged from the hospital. In addition, I collaborated with our surgeons, OR team, and other clinical staff to help evaluate and implement numerous protocols and standards in our program over the years. I developed a reference sheet for the orthopaedic floor nurses to improve decision making and quality of care in the immediate days after surgery.
