Work-Based Learning Coordinator
Current• Plan, develop, and facilitate workshops and presentations for youth ages 14-24.• Develop and facilitate environmental science and safety lesson plans for Sonoma County Youth Ecology Corps (SCYEC) youth Crew Members and adult Crew Leaders.• Represent SAY and give presentations at Sonoma County high schools, community events, and hiring fairs.• Two-time Emcee for the countywide Summer Kick-Off Event.• Lead interpretive tours for the public of SAY’s Dream Center campus.• Compose interpretive materials for newsletters and brochures.• Compile data and compose written material for annual reports. • Create physical and social media based recruitment and public outreach material.• Communicate effectively and develop working relationships with SCYEC project hosts, site supervisors, funders, and sponsors.• Evaluate project safety and feasibility for proposed SCYEC projects.• Negotiate project agreements with SCYEC project hosts.• Write, edit, and submit required written material for the SCYEC program to the Sonoma County Human Services Department.• Establish strategies with SCYEC project hosts to increase project host satisfaction and project efficacy.• Create and manage spreadsheet databases for a variety of youth development and information data.• Coordinate logistics of environmental science lessons with SCWA educators for SCYEC crews.• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise SCYEC Crew Members and Crew Leaders.• Design and implement staff development strategies and workshops for SCYEC Crew Leaders.• Assess youth development and learning goals in the SCYEC program.• Collaborate with SAY staff to evaluate program efficacy in regards to improving youth development outcomes. • Lead SCYEC crews in riparian restoration and water conservation projects throughout Sonoma County.• Organize transportation logistics for Crew Members for countywide SCYEC education events.
