I am a hardworking, organized, and dedicated senior at the University of Longwood. I am known for having a very friendly nature and being easy to get along with. The greatest passion of mine includes helping and being of service to others. Some skills obtained from three years of working in childcare include patience, responsibility, and communication. The wide variety of courses I have taken during my time at Longwood has helped prepare me for generalist practice in the social work field. During my junior year at Longwood, I partook in an internship at Powhatan Department of Social Services where I was able to work alongside the CPS, APS and Foster Care units. I have a large interest in working with children and families and being an advocate for them in times of need. With this being said, in January I will begin my senior internship placement at the Davis Child Advocacy Center in Chesterfield County. I look forward to this upcoming experience as the agency is of great interest to me. Following my bachelors degree, I have plans to attend graduate school concentrating in family-children clinical social work through an accelerated fast track program and eventually become a licensed clinical social worker.
