Hi, I’m Michaela! I’m excited to be working as a PR & Media Relations Coordinator at Travel Portland, where I’m diving into the tourism industry and sharing Portland’s unique story with the world. I graduated in June from the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sports Business. Before joining Travel Portland, I interned with Operation HOPE, where I worked closely with the Deputy Chief of Staff on the CEO’s American Aspiration Tour. In this role, I helped coordinate key tasks and managed a book component for AAT events, contributing to the initiative’s success. While at the University of Oregon, I served as the Events Director for the Public Relations Student Society of America, where I led fundraising events for the chapter. I also gained hands-on experience as a member of the public relations team for Oregon Accelerator, conducting social media audits and creating engaging content for student-athlete partners. Earlier in my career, I served as an Intelligence Analyst in the U.S. Army, where I developed strong analytical and team collaboration skills while supporting senior leaders with actionable intelligence.I’m passionate about the power of storytelling and am also an avid sports fan—Go Ducks! 🦆
