I have worked for charities since 2001 but feel I have a good range of skills and experience that I can easily apply to any industry. I have always taken a keen approach to my own personal development and feel it is important to continually learn new skills. In 2015 I completed a Cert HE in Charity and Social Enterprise Management at Anglia Ruskin University. Although this was focused around the not for profit sector it has provided me with management skills that are transferable to any business sector. I am currently the Operations Manager for a charity where my role includes a wide variety of responsibilities including managing the frontline service managers, overseeing health and safety at multiple sites, risk register maintenance, general HR duties, reporting to a board of trustees, compiling monitoring reports, contributing to project development, securing funding and marketing. No two days are ever the same and I have to manage competing demands on my time as I am frequently the ‘go-to’ person that other staff turn to when they have a query or need assistance. I have responsibility for a number of budgets that I monitor and follow the financial controls policy for any required expenditure. I also have responsibility for a trading subsidiary. This was a completely new type of venture for me and over the past 3 years I have built up a greater understanding of commercial business development and management.I am used to working in an extremely busy environment often needing to divide my time on different tasks and service areas. I work extremely hard to always ensure a job gets done and quite happy to step in to provide an extra pair of hands regardless of the what needs to be done. I like to consider myself a team player that is always willing to get involved at all levels ensuring projects and services are delivered to an extremely high standard and on time. I remain calm under pressure and act logically and thoughtfully in my decisions and actions. I have had feedback from my teams so I know they feel I am a supportive manager and even when they have disagreed with my point of view they have recognised it is greater good and understood my reasons for making changes. On a personal level my friends describe me as the ‘font of all knowledge’ and often approach me for information or advice. I am very loyal and give my upmost commitment in the workplace. I take pride in a job well done and set high standards for myself. I am able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
