When I was growing up, the last thing that I wanted to be was a teacher. My experience with teachers in most of middle school and high school were not that great. Of course I had a few great ones that I really connected with but we often remember the experiences that have a lasting impact on us...and those impacts came from negative interactions I had with teachers. Most teachers get into education because they were inspired in a positive way. I would say the opposite is true for me. I got into education because I wanted to be BETTER than the teachers I had experienced. I wanted to be a different kind of educator. I wanted to inspire children, instill confidence in them and make learning fun no matter the content. I have always been an educator and a coach at heart. I spent 13 years in the public education middle school classroom and 10 years as a high school cheerleading coach.In 2022, I made the choice to leave the public school system in order to pursue opportunities outside of education. I wanted the chance to continue my growth as a professional and expand my expertise outside of the classroom.
