Hi, there! I'm Michael, currently a Junior at Lehigh University's P.C. Rossin College of Engineering. I'm majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Marketing, and my coursework has covered a range of subjects including statistical surveying, engineering probability and statistics, strength of materials, computer methods, structural analysis, and introduction to environmental engineering.During my time at Lehigh, I've had the opportunity to deepen my research skills significantly. In the fall of 2022, I had the honor of working in collaboration with three fellow research student where I co-led research strides to explore the impact and ethical considerations of virtual reality in mental healthcare services, particularly in marginalized and underserved communities across the United States. Our work involved analyzing over 11 diverse datasets and translating quantitative findings into qualitative insights. Allowing us to conduct and conclude from more than 300 studies that virtual reality shows promise in treating psychological fears through gradual exposure therapy.Beyond my academic pursuits, I actively engage in extracurricular activities. I hold leadership roles in several organizations, including serving as the Alumni & Corporate Liaison for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), participating in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and being a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and Vice President of the Men Of Color Alliance (MOCA).I'm passionate about leveraging my engineering and marketing background to contribute meaningfully to projects that intersect sustainability with global impact in developing regions.
