I am a software engineer with a passion for technology, innovation, and continued learning. While I began with a focus on backend development using Java and Groovy, I have an keen eye for UX and how the data is presented, stored and know they all must work with one another efficiently. I understand now that being a Full Stack Engineer is the key to unlocking my full potential. My journey into the world of software development began when I discovered the thrill of creating web pages during a Web Design class in Jr. High. This initial exposure was enough to ignite a lifelong passion in programming, which led to me continuing to learn more. In high school I was introduced to Java and after taking Advanced Java, I realized this is me; I want to work in IT.Driven by my enthusiasm to learn new technologies, I pursued a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), and became a first-generation graduate in 2016. Since then, I have gained valuable experience in technology, primarily in the FinTech sector, honing my skills and expertise as an engineer, student and mentor. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, including but not limited to Java, Groovy, Typescript, PHP, Python, Spring boot, Dropwizard and Grails, and continue to learn various new skills and applications required for the role including Postman, Git, SwaggerUI and several more. I have successfully contributed to the development of complex software solutions, and microservices, leveraging my analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality projects, helping my team deliver several solutions to production.I also enjoy learning French, which I started studying in high school, and have never stopped learning it. I’ve utilized this skill in my current and past jobs and that alone gives me the drive to continue on with the language. To me, continuing to better my foreign language skills only shows that I have the drive and passion to learn and do better every day, even if I’m not reaping the benefits immediately. After all programming is yet another form of learning a language, and I love being literate in multiple languages, spoken or compiled. When I’m AFK, I enjoy spending time with my two cats and two dogs, exploring the outdoors by biking and spending time with my partner.
