Android app development using modern app architecture and Hilt with Kotlin.Features include: - Gradle build with Kotlin DSL and a versions catalogue for ease of maintainability. - Audio foreground services for playing podcasts using media3 and exoplayer. - Quality using a comination of lint Espresso, Junit, StrictMode and Crashlytics- A custom browser for checking news articles, with push notifications for breaking news and football scores. - Medialogin integration for access to subscription services and other benefits.- Graphql, ktor, usecase and datastore preferences.- UI implementation using StateFlow and material themes. - Firebase integration including Crashlytics for monitoring usage and issuesSpring-boot REST services to supply the Ekstrabladet website with content, and editors with tools to quickly post articles. The technologies behind include kotlin and java with maven build. Postgres database, hibernate, JPA and H2. Also Graphql and gRPC appear in some of the services. Services are hosted inside Docker containers using docker-compose.

Software architect and kotlin developer. As part of a nine person Agile team with diverse skill sets, we set about building a system of services and frontend web pages to provide faster turnaround for customers. With a secondary goal to migrate away from ‘the monolith’. As software architect I worked very closely with both front and backend developers while interacting regularly with outside stakeholders in order to clarify requirements. We produced and iterated upon an initial MVP with contributions from everyone and weekly retrospectives.We became a very tightly knit and effective team, producing a constantly evolving series of systems maintained to a high degree of code quality using reviews and automated testing.

Working with a pharmaceutical company requires a high degree of quality control and precision, so I was heavily involved in development of process and test planning, in a way that the company could sign off on. With frequent visits to company sites across Europe, to aid in the installation and test of our hardware and software tracking solution.
