I fine-tuned my literary skills translating audio stories by 30 best-selling and emerging authors. And I learnt to think beyond the words in Dutch as a translator and journalist in an international newsroom, producing bulletins and web articles. Recent translations range from books for the Rijksmuseum to speeches for the Mayor of Amsterdam.• Voice actor (British English)I have years of experience, including commercials, documentaries, drama and live news. I'm currently one of the voices for Ajax TV International, recreating football commentary for weekly English broadcasts translated from Dutch to English. I was one of the voices for Ajax TV International, the Amsterdam football club’s weekly English language TV broadcasts. The content originated in Dutch and was translated into English. My jobs included recreating live commentary excerpts with all the excitement of match, voicing post-match interviews with the coach and players, and voicing the weekly show Inside Ajax.

Hilversum

I was part of the small team that originally created the content of Love Matters for RNW Media. I went on to become the initial web editor, and continued as a senior editor and consultant for India until the end of 2017. Love Matters is an award-winning, internationally renowned series of online platforms providing information on love, sex and relationships for young people in countries where it’s hard to obtain reliable information on sexuality.

I produced and edited the content for the TEDxHagueAcademy Salon on Secure Societies, held in March 2014 at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Hilversum

As a freelancer at Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch international service, I wrote or translated news and current affairs stories for the news website. I also worked as a news reader, and as a producer and presenter on the programme Newsline. Radio Netherlands Worldwide ended news and radio production in June 2012 to become a platform for free speech.

Private Thoughts in Public Places was an innovative live art company blending performance, installation, digital music, printed text, video, computer graphics and conceptual art.

As a teacher of English as a foreign language to adults, I specialised in high-level writing skills. Students principally worked in development cooperation for NGOs and government departments. The work required tailoring courses to meet the needs of students working in a wide range of countries, in Africa, Asia and Europe.
