He is a former *Chief Executive of the Hawthorn Football Club (1997). He took the Hawthorn Football Club from a revenue base of $11 million to $30 million. Michael successfully negotiated with the AFL for Hawthorn to move from Waverley Park to its new home at the MCG in 1999 and negotiated with the Tasmanian Government to secure a long-term deal to host AFL matches in Launceston. He is a former *Deputy CEO of Cricket Australia (2002) responsible for managing the day-to-day cricket activities of Cricket Australia, including overseeing the operation and contracting of all Australian men’s and women’s cricketers, national umpiring panel, international and domestic cricket programming, security and overseeing anti-corruption issues.He was *Chief Executive of the Asian Cup (2015) and the Rugby World Cup (2017) before returning to Melbourne to establish his consultancy, Brown and Associates.Michael is most recently, the former *Chief Executive of Kardinia Park Stadium. His extensive experience in government relations resulted in excess of $100 million funding approval for the Stage 5 re-development of the stadium.He currently works extensively with Ticketmaster in Australia and NZ as Head of Strategy and Business, building industry relationships, delivering internal leadership programs and developing an extensive business network.*(See further achievement details below).
