Michael "Brian" Wellborn is an accomplished leader with academic degrees, clinical experiences, certifications, and 25+ years of professional experience in both profit and non-profit environments.Currently in store management at Harris Teeter, Brian is a recognized high performer and senior professional in operations management. Analyzing and evaluating data, he makes strategic decisions that effectively lead the store in sales and profitability, people leadership, waste and shrink, as well as safety and quality assurance. He is the associate relations point person at the store level. Working closely with human resources on a variety of issues, he leads in all aspects of the hiring process, progressive discipline process, and review of associate performance evaluations. Beyond the local store level, he is a trained regional class facilitator and monitors district labor from forecasts to scheduling for fourteen stores.Before joining Harris Teeter, Brian served as a pastor in The United Methodist Church. He oversaw all aspects of non-profit administration including strategy, operations, leadership, people development, team building, and financial management. Before serving as a pastor, he held the position of youth minister, where he and the youth ministry he led were recognized multiple times for their work in the community, highlighted as a model ministry, and recognized as a preeminent youth ministry in the denomination.A servant-leader at heart, Brian enjoys being active in the community through various leadership roles and volunteer opportunities that work to enrich the lives of others.Brian holds a Master of Divinity from Duke University, a Bachelor of Science from The University of Mount Olive, and a business essentials credential from Harvard Business School Online.
