Research on issues in education policy and data management / data collection (with Python, R, STATA, and/or Excel)

Provided reinforcement of material taught in introductory statistics ranging from probability theory to statistical inference through Lehigh’s Center for Academic Success. Enforce critical components of microeconomic/statistical concepts from theoretical applications to real-world examples.

Implemented a literature review in agricultural policy economics, specifically, how crop insurance affects the behavior/decisions of farmers. Cleaned FEMA data in R and used FIPS codes to match the data with a border sample and flooded/unflooded binary variables to test if the border sample had relatively similar disaster histories prior to 1993. Used to test Dif-in-Dif assumptions of a proposed paper on crop insurance with the exogeneity coming from a flood.

Conducted research on schools in LAUSD to generate a pseudo dataset for a new data assessment. Implemented a variety of statistical tests to ensure the pseudo data met a variety of assumptions for statistical modeling. Ran potential models a candidate could use to answer the data assessment such as the following: Hypothesis Testing, Non-Parametric Tests, Regression (Multiple), Fixed Effects, Difference-in-Differences, and various combinations of the aforementioned models.
