I worked along side Head Registrar and Associate Registrars to complete special projects dealing with sensitive information. My responsibilities included answering various questions that come through the office either by phone or in-person, office administrative tasks, inputting and extracting data from the software program BANNER, as well as any other diverse tasks that I am charged with. I joined the staff at a hectic time during the school year, when the office was dealing with an increased workload. I learned the software program BANNER, which I was previously completely unfamiliar with, but now am completely comfortable dealing with in any and all capacities. I work multiple shifts during the week while balancing academic responsibilities as well as extracurricular activities.

My summer with management consulting company Athena Global Advisors offered me the opportunity to work at an exciting and rapidly expanding company. I was able to make significant contributions throughout the summer and learned a lot in the process.The project I worked on involved a rebranding campaign for a Fortune 50 company's Internet service. The project worked to create a strong brand with a clear purpose. The goal was to increase employee engagement to drive education and excitement as part of a holistic rebranding approach. My main role was leading an audit of the company’s internal communications and content. I compiled a spreadsheet evaluating over 200 articles with breakouts for several classifications. I regularly communicated with company executives to discuss the findings. The success of the audit prompted the client to replicate the audit in other areas and even begin creating a process whereby this exercise would be automated in the future. I also compiled meeting minutes for weekly project meetings, produced spreadsheets and slide decks, as well as participating regularly in client meetings.Aside from this project, I also produced 3 reports for executives at a Fortune 50 company totaling over 60 pages regarding Internet Trends, the state of Artificial Intelligence, and Data Privacy. I had the pleasure of meeting with one company executive to discuss the findings further. I also presented on the Internet Trends Report to Athena's CEO as well as Senior Directors.

I began the summer with minimal knowledge about Commercial Real Estate and was eager to learn more. Throughout the summer I gained valuable knowledge about the field as well as knowledge about the New York City area. I was able to connect what I am learning in my Economics classes to the Commercial Real Estate market which was very exciting. As an intern in the Retail Sales department, I worked very closely with Associates and fellow interns as well as having consistent contact with the Managing Partner. I conducted research on properties throughout Brooklyn and Queens and compiled my findings into Excel and Powerpoint. I assisted in the valuations of properties by gathering information such as comparable sales, taxes, and zoning information from databases such as Property Shark and Oasis. I attended pitch meetings which allowed me to gain insight into the inner workings of negotiation. Much of my summer consisted of monitoring the market and finding new leads and trends for Associates.

Greater New York City Area

My summer at The McPherson Firm was my first exposure to office life. As an intern at the small firm, I worked closely with Associates and Partner Laurie McPherson and through these close relationships I was able to gain value knowledge and skills that I will carry with me throughout my future work life. I learned a lot about legal processes and was able to attend many client meetings and trials, compiling notes on these events for my superiors. I reviewed and corrected various legal documents for grammar and content errors. I overhauled the firm's electronic and physical filing system. I completed various assignments such as assembling spending spreadsheets, conducting legal research and arranging divorce packets to name a few. I also answered phones, received messages and performed other office administrative tasks.
