Photography is a universal language. The capacity of a photograph to inform, entertain, educate and pursuade individuals, nations and markets is well documented, and well understood by PR and marketing agencies. With over 30 years of experience I believe the most important question I can ask is "why?"Why is the client asking me to make a given set of pictures? Where will the images be used, who will be the audience, what is the desired effect of their publication? By answering these questions the right images can be crafted, delivering the expected results for the client, and a productive and lasting business relationship. An advocate of assisting others develop an understanding of the power of photography, I offer work experience placements and mentor for the Ideas Foundation (of which I am a member of the Creative Advisory Board) and Venture Thinking. I was part of the Media Space team that won the award for Excellent Professional Practice in Curriculum and Student Support in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at the London Education Partnership Awards in 2009, and was Photography Coordinator for UK Skills and Chairman of the RPS Visual Journalism Group. In 2008 I became the first photographer in history to get a newspaper by-line in orbit. My first book, Phineas' Friends, was published in 2011, leading to massive media coverage, and a series of keynote speeches to the NHS and academia, bringing recognition and funds to the Evelina Children's Hospital.Specialities include: commercial, industrial, architectural, corporate, wedding, travel, art, portraiture, and production stills photography.
