I lead the company effort to design a new lab space and coordinate the build. I worked directly with the directors at University Research Park, architects at Perkins & Will, the Science & Technology team at Findorff Construction, project management team at Keel Partners, and real estate attorneys at Carlson-Black. With the support of my team, I outlined our program needs & facility requirements, which I successfully presented to the Board of Directors for approval. I also increased the efficiency and reliability of inventory & equipment management, conducted safety training and implemented safety policies for the lab and developed the quality management system. Unfortunately, the company decided to suspend operations with 11 days notice to employees, effective July 31 2022. No severance, no insurance, zero grace. But I am grateful for the amazing lab team I was part of and the friendships I developed, as well as the difficult lessons learned 🫶 Show less

Primary responsibilities involve the culture of these cell types for use in high-throughput, human-based toxicity assays, as well as, the design, documentation, and execution of these assays. These high-throughput, quick turn around assays use very small amounts of test articles and provide human endpoints that can be used to screen chemicals early during development which can reduce the cost, time, and animal testing required for product development. Secondary responsibilities include: creating laboratory procedures and protocols in compliance with the company's quality system, equipment/instrument maintenance and calibrations, laboratory inventory management, data analysis, supervision of laboratory safety, HIPAA privacy and compliance officer. After landing a new position with career growth opportunities, I volunteered to stay on part time on weekends indefinitely to help my manager with weekend cell culture work. While she was appreciative, the CEO had the opposite response. The gaslighting was difficult for me emotionally and really heartbreaking after 8 years of dedication and friendship. Best part of this job was being outside and traveling, which were also the worst part. But, this job did greatly enhance my problem solving skills, improved my ability to work independently and on a team, taught me how to work with difficult people, fostered self reliance, and made me understand the importance of attention to detail. All of those skills are critical to getting the job done and not dying or killing somebody. Antenna, radio, coaxial cable and fiber optic installation and trouble shooting at heights exceeding 1,000 feet. High voltage lighting installation and maintenance. Implementation of customer and manufacturer protocols. It was rad for a bit, but good to be onward and upward.
