As an IP expert and litigator, I am helping multinationals and SMEs predominantly in the design & fashion, technology & videogaming and consumer goods & retail industry with their IP related issues (including trade marks, copyright, designs, patents, trade secrets). I have handled multiple national and multi-jurisdictional patent, copyright/design and trade mark litigation cases before the Belgian and EU courts and administrative bodies.I am recognised as a Trademark Expert by WTR1000 (World Trademark Review), a Patent Expert by IAMPatent, a leading IP expert by Legal500 and Chambers, and a Rising IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property. I am also an accredited arbitrator of domain name disputes with CEPINA (the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation) and representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).I regularly publish articles on recent developments in the field of IP. I wrote the Belgian contributions for the Study on Trade Secrets and Confidential Business Information commissioned by the European Commission in preparation of the Trade Secrets Directive, and published several legal articles on, inter alia, the ownership of design rights and copyright in the employment relationship, the protection of trade secrets, IP and gaming, the tax regime applicable to copyright, etc. I have also co-authored a chapter on IP in the handbooks 'Mode & Recht' (Intersentia, 2018) and ‘Legal Aspects of the video-game Industry´ (Maklu, 2021) and have written the Belgian chapters of various handbooks on Collecting Societies, Patent Litigation, Patent linkage, Arbitration, Anti-counterfeiting, Parallel Trade, Employee Creations, Trade Secrets, ISP Liability.I regularly speak at seminars on IP related issues. I am the President of the Legislative Committee of BMM (the Benelux association for trademarks and designs), an active member of the Bulletin Committee of INTA, and deputy for trademarks at AIPPI Belgium (the international association for the protection of IP).On a personal level, I am a father of two boys (Victor and Matisse) and in my spare time I enjoy football, skiing and adding vinyl records to my music collection.
