I oversee firmwide initiatives encompassing legal research, competitive intelligence, knowledge management, resource management, and strategic planning. My role involves actively engaging with attorneys and business professionals to increase internal and external knowledge, drive continuous innovation, and support our firm’s strategic goals.

Responsible for firmwide library and knowledge services, including knowledge management, data analysis, strategy, research, and the integration of technology and innovation into practice groups. Actively engage with practice groups and admin staff to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Oversaw the work of all supervisors and staff within the Infrastructure & Content Department, managed and coordinated daily operations regarding the design, development and implementation of information infrastructures, print collections and networked information services, and developed long-term strategies that align with the missions of the Learning Commons and the Naval War College.Supervised three professional librarians, four library technicians and a team comprised of staff from multiple departments through the formulation of policies, programs, procedures, projects and services.Developed and maintained innovative technologies to support building, organizing, storing, classifying, analyzing and weeding collections in a variety of analog and digital formats stored locally and remotely.Performed analysis with the intent of improving workflows and the processing, classifying and accessing of information more cost-effective.

Responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of the integrated library system for academic and classified libraries. Led an Electronic Resources Management Team which was tasked with evaluating and implementing an electronic resources management system and with designing and analyzing current workflows and with creating efficiencies for purchasing, processing and evaluating new electronic resources. Submitted purchase proposals for information technology equipment and services. Collaborated with other academic libraries to learn best practices. Worked on special projects regarding circulation decisions, analysis and weeding of the collection using evaluation tools, and policies and procedures for organizing and classifying the analog and digital collections.

Managed all aspects of the library, including legal and non-legal reference, budgeting, collection development, training and staffing. Specific accomplishments:Planned and conducted monthly training workshops and presentations for attorneys and administrative staff, researched integrated library software and implemented Softlink Liberty 3, decreased firmwide library budget by 18% in the first year, renegotiated Westlaw contract, organized and oversaw a library move for our Washington, DC office, planned the development of a core collection for a New York City office that opened in 2009, worked with firm's marketing department to create efficient business development and intelligence reports, created Library's intranet page which includes daily monitoring of blogs and news sources of clients using RSS feeds, attended numerous professional association meetings.

Managed the day-to-day aspects of a branch library, conducted legal, corporate and general research for attorneys and staff, supervised the contract filing service, trained attorneys, staff and summer associates, negotiated with vendors, assisted the marketing department with information requests.

Provided in-depth legal research, created annual library budget, negotiated new contracts for online services, maintained a database of upcoming CLE meetings.

Transferred from the Atlanta office to create and organize a new library for the DC office, responsible for the selection and purchase of print and online materials, developed new vendor contacts, implemented several new procedures, including routing of current awareness, budgeting, and circulation; trained and supervised an assistant, developed a new records management protocol for the office.

Researched, selected and implemented new library software program (SydneyPLUS) encompassing cataloging, accounting and routing; trained attorneys and library staff on all electronic resources; wrote user guides and training manuals; acted as primary contact for online research; participated in the interviewing and hiring of new library staff members.

Supervised full-time library filers, operated a help desk for all electronic resources, including CD's, internet, and online services; assisted IT Department with CD upgrades and purchase of new computer equipment, served a daily rotation at the reference desk.
