I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the success of Viking Pump as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. For 21 years I contributed to the success of John Deere by performing design and 1D simulation engineering on Deere's 7,8, and 9000 series tractors hydraulic and pneumatics systems. I have designed and performed analysis on most of the major components that make up hydraulic systems including pumps, (piston, gear, gerotor), cartridge & manifold valves (steering, brake, solenoid, pressure control, and flow control), cylinders, filters, accumulators, brakes. and hoses/tubes/fittings.I have managed my own design projects for pumps, cylinders, and specialized hydraulic subsystems as well as performing 1D analysis using Amesim and Simscape on the overall hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. As part of the analysis role I was required to understand and model the functions of a wide variety of components along with capturing the overall system dynamics. This requirement made me a daily user of Creo to obtain the design information needed for my analysis.I worked with designers to prepare prints with accurate GD&T callouts. I also reviewed prints as an analysis engineer especially for dimensional tolerances that would impact the analysis and performance of the modeled components. I have received Six Sigma Greenbelt training and worked in a Six Sigma/ISO 9000 manufacturing environment for nearly 30 years. In addition to the 1D simulation of the hydraulic systems, I also used 3D simulation tools like Simcenter 3D in a more limited role. I have used both ANSYS Structural and FLUENT in my past positions along with other analysis codes. I have been using PTC 3D modeling tools for 30 years (Pro/Engineer and Creo).I was an OEM account manager and customer engineer for five years representing filtration and exhaust components. As an OEM account manager I interacted daily with OEM engineers and supply management personnel as I prepared bids, made presentations, and addressed customer concerns. I successfully captured the air filter business for a new OEM product launch (the first major air filter business done with that company).I was an Industrial Hydraulics Project Engineer for three years. In that time I worked closely with industrial users such as power plants, quarries, and manufacturing companies machining cells. I supported onsite as a plant product engineer the implementation of a new multimillion dollar production line.
