Customer service is my passion. I excel at building integral partnerships with my clients, providing the kind of care, accountability, and reliability that they need to thrive. I am currently applying this skill set in my full-time role as a stay-at-home dad. From 2016-2018, I served remotely as a tax issue resolution specialist for Gusto. I was an essential partner on the tax resolution team, researching federal, state, and local tax notices for small businesses and assisting them in bringing their tax accounts back into compliance. In the role, I developed my customer service skills, critical thinking and problem solving ability, and upped my mad Giphy game on Slack. Prior to joining Gusto's tax resolution team, in 2015 I worked with then-Zenpayroll as a compliance research consultant, aiding the product engineering team in investigating such issues as city and state mandatory sick leave ordinances.Previously, I worked full-time as a Customer Service Representative at Paychex, where I enjoyed interacting with over one hundred and twenty small business owners, bookkeepers, and CPAs each week. While payroll processing requires strong technical knowledge and skill, I found that soft skills like listening and anticipating another's needs were even more essential to success. In May, 2010 I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a minor in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. I studied both ancient and modern philosophy, through which I developed creative and critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and analytic skills.Specialties: ethical deliberation, account management, proofreading, public speaking, data entry
