Responsible for providing quality career assessment, programming and advising to adequately meet the unique needs of University Division students by providing expert guidance and innovative career-related advising to individual students and student groups. Assist students through processes of self-exploration and academic major decision-making. Guide students through the identification and creation of experiential opportunities to explore career fields and develop networking experiences with alumni, faculty and employers. Provide assistance in helping students identify part-time jobs, internships, professional shadowing and career related events. Develop and assist with career focused events and outreach. Ongoing collaboration with University Division Academic Advisors and institutional partners.

Responsible for promoting a community living experience that fosters individual responsibility, acceptance and academic growth. Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of professional managers, clerical support, graduate supervisors and undergraduate paraprofessional staff in diverse undergraduate residential communities housing approximately 4000 students. Oversight of the university judicial processes and implementation of policies pertaining to the behavior and conduct of students as established by RPS and Indiana University. Advise and counsel students on developing academic and social competencies; collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to provide in-center programs that enhance and promote academic success and assist students with academic and social adjustment to Indiana University. Assess and determine appropriate course of action in emergency situations and establish appropriate emergency procedures and safety training. Communicate, interpret, and administer residence hall rules and regulations, as well as the Student Code of Conduct. Open, close, and secure the residence centers at the beginning and end of each semester and during break periods. Represent RPS to parents, guests,and members of the university community; work cooperatively with other campus units to ensure the delivery of essential services and coordinate the on-going development of the student government groups within the center. Work along with information services staff to develop, implement and train users on new operational technology.
