With the internalisation of Novion Property Group (NVN) which until 3 November 2014 was known as CFS Retail Property Trust Group (CFX), I became Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer of one of Australia's largest REITs. It was also a top 50 entity on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and its ticker for this exchange is NVN. Novion owned a portfolio of interests in 25 Australian shopping centres. These included the largest (and best) mall in Australia, Chadstone in Melbourne. Other key malls owned include Chatswood Chase in Sydney and Queens Plaza and the Myer Centre Brisbane in Brisbane's city centre. I brought more than 20 years' experience to the role with extensive experience in the the management of an ASX listed entity as well as the development and management of major retail properties in Australia and overseas.I was also the Deputy Chairman of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia, the peak industry body for shopping centre landlords and a non-executive director of the Eramboo Artists' Environment, an artists' facility on the northern beaches of Sydney which aims to combine arts education and professional arts studio practice in a bush setting. In June 2015, following a vote of Novion security holders at an Extraordinary General Meeting, Novion merged with another real estate investment trust, Federation Centres, to form Vicinity Centres. Following nine months of working on the merger, I elected to retire from executive roles to pursue a career as a non-executive director.
