· Researched and assisted with the design of a novel high efficiency lighting system. · Designed vacuum system for experiment on lighting device. · Built experimental setup to test properties of lighting system.

· Wrote programs in C, Python and UNIX Bash scripting to measure the properties of simulated Tungsten photonic crystals. · Optimized simulated crystals for use in a solar thermophotovoltaic cell.

· Designed and built novel user-powered musical instruments that incorporated physical resonant structures as well as synthesizers and speakers. · Designed and built parts with laser cutter, water-jet and machining tools. · Designed and built circuits with use of EAGLE for power and sound generation. · Wrote synthesizer programs for ATmega microcontroller.

· Optimized Python and C code for an educational music composition program called Musicpainter and added features for its final release.
