I am a scientist doing research in artificial intelligence for applications to computer vision and robotics. My primary responsibility is to devise and prototype novel solutions to problems in the field. I enjoy both programming and the research process. I have been programming for over eight years now, and have worked in several programming languages, including Python, R, Julia, MATLAB, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Elm, Scheme, Go, C, and C#. I am a competitor in online AI and data science competitions to help keep my skills sharp and up-to-date. I am motivated most when I believe that I am useful, and when I am doing work worth doing and tackling new and interesting problems. Outside of artificial intelligence, I am interested in philosophy, history, and classical literature; because I believe that these studies inform the way we see the world, and how we think and solve problems.

  I am a scientist at Charles River Analytics doing research in artificial intelligence for applications in computer vision and autonomous systems. My primary responsibility is to devise and prototype solutions to problems in image recognition that the company faces as it executes it's research contracts. I am responsible for writing detailed technical reports on experiments I perform, and for guiding my own work towards useful progress on assigned projects. I am also part of the research contract proposal process, in which our scientists draft and review new research proposals to send to our clients.
