More specifically this involvement in asset and liability buy and sell decisions including loans, investments and debt instruments. Interest rate, credit, and operational risk assessment and guidance around mergers and acquisitions are key facets of the role.

I handle the build out and management of all financial risk modeling systems for CACU. I devise management reports for and provide strategic direction to the ALCO committee and the Board. I provide guidance to the ALCO advisory committee to help facilitate and direct on corporate level risk decisions. High level, my job consists of making sure CACU stays within its desired risk tolerance, while maximizing profitability. This involves intensive modeling of our 3 main types of risks (ALM or market, operational, and credit), which helps us determine and monitor and alter our risk, given our capital structure, while staying within predefined risk tolerances. I design and run systems and reporting to create vital metrics like Economic Capital, forecast income, market values, FTP, and RAROC to help run our business and make more profitable decisions. As part of my Treasury role I am gate-keeper to the decision making of the product/line managers...which includes guidance on pricing and product design. I also mitigate the pipeline risk, liquidity risk, and the other aforementioned risks associated with mortgages by managing our secondary mortgage marketing function.

Similar to my current experiences, with less focus on the aspects of profitability. I implemented and ran the Asset/Liability Management tools for the bank. This included Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), integrated to the GL, for reporting of risk adjusted margins. And also included cashflow and liquidity analysis, as well as standard deterministic ALM scenario analysis. I was also responsible for the ALM packet coordination, distribution.
