After a brief retirement, during which I was rehabilitating from a total knee replacement, I was offered and took a position as a Deputy Sheriff performing court security for the Dorchester County Maryland Sheriffs Office.In August 2015 I was appointed to the position of Chief of Police for the Hurlock Police Department, a position I held until June 2016 when I retired from the Department.In July 2011 I retired after 25 years of service with the Easton Police Department. I accepted a position with my home town Police Department, the Hurlock Maryland Police Department, as Deputy Chief of Police, holding the rank of Captain. I oversee all aspects of the department to include, personnel, training, equipment, and scheduling. I had been with the Easton Police Department since 1986, working in both the Patrol and Detective Divisions. I held the rank of Lt. since 1999 and was Commander of the Administrative Division; being in charge of Property and Evidence, Records, IT, Building and Fleet Maintenance. In the last 6 months I had been transferred to be the Commander of the Patrol Division and Communications Center. I was also the Commander for the Departments Honor Guard Unit and hosted an annual Training Seminar since 2002 where police and fire departments from up and down the east coast had attended.In 2009 I ran for and won election to the Hurlock Town Council, representing District 1. In October 2010 I was assigned by the Mayor as the Liaison to the Hurlock Police Department. In July 2011 I resigned from this position to work with the Police Department.I have prior experience in corrections, working at the Talbot County Maryland Detention Center, and in the installation and service of HVAC systems.Trained in Accident Reconstruction.Commander/trainer of the EPD Honor Guard.
