Many people are good at administering the status quo, but few can innovate to respond to a changing environment. My approach is based on social innovation – finding practical solutions to complex problems by bringing together ideas, resources and tools in new ways. I am a big picture thinker able to design deliverable, practical, innovative solutions. I have a track record as trusted advisor to senior decision-makers faced with such challenges. I applied these approaches as a senior lawyer and business leader within Canada’s federal civil service over more than 30 years. Recent successes include redesigning decision-making processes to improve government relations with Indigenous Peoples to unlock billions in economic opportunities (Canada and Australia). My approach measurably increased productivity of an organisation with 500 lawyers by reengineering business practices and culture (Department of Justice Canada). The same approach helped me guide corporate directors to reinvigorate and sharpen boardroom culture to better deliver the priorities of 4000 professional executives of the Public Service of Canada (Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada).
