I am an experienced software engineer and field ecologist, having a B.S. and M.S. in forestry. As a forestry graduate student, I took several undergraduate classes in computer science. I also have a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. I am certified as a Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM) by the IEEE’s Computer Society. I also have a product on the market, the SDI-12 Verifier, a system that tests environmental sensors for compliance with the SDI-12 standard (www.sdi-12-verifier.com).I have been a principal at NR Systems, Inc., since 1990. I do ecological field work, field data collection with handheld computers, mapping and geodatabase management with ArcGIS, and software design and coding for natural resources related applications. Mapping and Geodatabase Experience: map production for wetland delineation and waters of the U.S. reports for many proposed development sites, conforming to standards specified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; production of maps and a geodatabase illustrating wetlands and Waters of the U.S. resources within Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado, conforming to Department of Defense Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE); mapping of wetland and Waters of the U.S. within a 1,700-acre proposed mine site in Elko County, Nevada; consolidation of spatial information related to unique and sensitive environmental resources within the Lost Rivers watersheds in Idaho.Other Databases: PHP code executing SQL queries for server-side databases; designed and coded a Windows desktop application to create and manage Microsoft Access databases for collectibles, C# code interfaced with compact databases on handheld field computers.
