Following an organisational restructure, the role of Director of Operations (England) was abolished and 3 geographical Directors of Operations were appointed, of which I was one.Responsible for all aspects of operational management in 36 services across West & South West England in accordance with the organisation’s charter, strategy, policies and standards. These services include supported and independent living, domiciliary care, day care, plus care homes (including those with nursing)• 6 Direct reports with 1500 staff in total, • Responsible for an annual budget of £35 million• Lead role in relationship management with key stakeholders (service users, commissioners, partners, professional networks and volunteers).• Overall responsibility for developing and delivering Divisional business plans and ensuring high quality operational performance and growth. • Representing LCD at national, regional, and local events and conferences, ensuring that the organisation remains at the forefront of developments in health and social care.• Member of the Voluntary Organisations Disability Group Operations Director forum. • The role requires confident and regular communication to a wide range of audiences, both internally and externally.• Seconded to the “Way Ahead” Implementation Team. This involved planning and implementing structural and process changes for the organisation.
