Meeker Construction, Inc., a general contracting and consulting firm, focused on state-wide projects in Florida.At the age of 10 I started as a laborer with the family company and eventually climbed the ranks to VP. I led all daily operations, strategic planning, subcontractor hiring, project proposals, and financial analysis until the death of the owner in 2009. During my time as VP, I also established a parallel initiative—Meeker Industries—and provided executive leadership and support to both companies.Always being one to tackle a challenge, one of my first major leadership wins was to address an antiquated company system no longer adequate in supporting business growth. The company was experiencing a particularly explosive period of development and I took up the charge to usher both Meeker companies into the 21rst century.Through research, partnerships, trial and error, and a commitment to “get it right,” I supported the growth of both Meeker companies by developing and managing internal IT.PROBLEM SOLVING SUCCESS✓ Reduced paperwork and processing time 25% after introducing new digital organizational tools.✓ Communicated closely with builders and ensured new system was compatible with contractors.✓ Installed all infrastructure, including running wires, computer set up, and tech support as well as developing harmonized computer systems between both Meeker entities.
