I am a Meteorologist with On-Air experience as a Temporary Fill-In Broadcast Meteorologist position at WMDT 47 News from August to September 2013. In May 2012, I graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a BS in Meteorology and and a minor in Communications. I grew up in CT, and am eager to begin my career as a Broadcast Meteorologist with a prominent local television station. In addition to my strong educational background, I have hands-on experience gained through 4 meteorology internships with TV stations in the greater Hartford area, and as Weatherman for the Newtown Patch. I have strong social media skills and embrace maximizing the use of communications and media technologies to enhance our lives. In my internships, I learned how to use weather software, created graphics and charts used in newscasts and gained extensive experience analyzing severe weather. I am comfortable in front of the camera and delivered regular weather webcasts as part of WestConn Weather Team.I have always been fascinated by many aspects of meteorology and have become a reliable source for accurate weather predictions. As a young boy, I was curious about what exactly caused the various weather conditions. By the 8th grade, I decided that I wanted to be a Broadcast Meteorologist. Weather forecasting combines science with human intellect. As meteorologists, we are well-trained and use cutting edge technology, but still have to properly interpret the data we collect and provide this information to the public in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. I understand how important it is to provide television news viewers with reliable and timely weather information.
