Bike mesh is a non-removable tracking device that will utilize several networks at once, including the newly released Android Device network (just released in July 2024 and for which no dedicated bike tracking services exist).

3-5 million bicycles are stolen in Europe alone.
An average of 98k bicycles in England and Wales are stolen yearly over the last 20 years.
95% of bicycles are never recovered as they are seen traditionally as low value crime which limits the effective use of the police.
Northern Ireland numbers for bike theft are much lower than the average for the UK, however conversations directly with the PSNI indicate that they believe a minimum of 75% of bike theft are likely never reported to the authorities, due to hopeless lack of recovery.
The Police authority have told us that their research shows that once a bike is reported stolen it effects people’s mental health.
One victim’s statement is below:
"When my bike was stolen, I was gutted. I loved that bike and used it every day for five years. I relied on it to cycle to work and without it my commute became longer and more expensive. I now need to pay for public transport which I previously hadn’t budgeted for. I also can’t afford to replace my bike. Whoever took it has not only invaded someone else’s personal property, but forced someone else to make changes to their life and spend
money and time on their selfishness."
We are aiming to reduce bike theft and improve the health metrics available to cyclists.
We hope to achieve this by creating a Non-removable, easy to fit, Health and Fitness Security tracker for your bicycle, powered through the vibration of cycling.
For countries that more accurately record data on bike theft we can see this represents a high proportion of crime.
By adding a tracking device to a bicycle, its location can be tracked, plus a wealth of health metrics generated.
