About Michael Lansing
As a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major at the University of Richmond, my goal of becoming a Military Operational Physician motivates my academics. Graciously, the US Army has provided a full ROTC scholarship for my studies at the University of Richmond. ROTC has awarded countless opportunities for my personal and professional development, such as Air Assault School at Fort Moore, Georgia, where I learned combat helicopter operations, sling-loading vital combat equipment, and rappelling. As an Advanced EMT at Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad and Richmond Ambulance Authority, I perform assessments, treatments, and transport critically injured and ill patients in high-pressure emergency settings within each 911 system. My passion for EMS has led me to fill several roles in EMS leadership, and the Virginia Office of EMS has recognized my commitment. Through my role as a Member-At-Large, elected to Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad's Board of Directors, I developed my leadership skills and strive to make judicious and progressive decisions for the benefit of my agency. As Secretary of the Student Conduct Council at UR, I uphold the University's values and lead my peers to fairly judge conduct violations. I endeavor to deepen meaningful relationships with my coworkers, patients, and friends.
