Driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency across Sonoco's Metal Packaging business unit, including 12 world-class facilities across the United States in manufacturing: two- and three-piece steel food, two-and three-piece steel aerosol cans, closures and components.

Manufacturing bottoms and peel-off tops for metal and paper containers, supplying customers in 14 countries within the following markets: powdered infant formula, powdered beverages, nuts, snack food, spices, and dough.

• Received zero complaints in 2021 from our three international customers within the Powdered Infant Formula market.• Restructured Standard Operating Procedures of Internal Plant Rejections (ICARS/SCARS).• Full re-write of the plant’s Non-Conforming Product Procedure. o Standardized Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) procedure to what other closures plants use. o Incorporated a disposition process using the introduced AQL forms.• Restructured the Cleaning Program to increase internal sanitation effectiveness and ease of auditing.• Led and created a Trial Team and processes from trial to approval during supply issues created by COVID. o Oversaw trials of both steel and membrane of 6 different current and new suppliers, utilizing statistically designed experiments and capability studies.• Led all Food Safety Scheme Compliance Audits: FSSC 22000, NSF, and customer audits. o Achieved 0 findings on FSSC 2021 Audit.• Created Standard Work for both the Quality Manager and Quality Tech positions.• Led cross-functional teams to determine corrective actions for customer complaints, audits, and internal rejects.• Kept 2021 External Failure cost to $22,290 vs goal of $55,000.

Spent time as a Supervisor at Sonoco’s President Island plant in multiple Production Supervisor roles, gaining manufacturing experience by spending over a year on 3rd shift as Press and Metal Processing Supervisor before transitioning to 1st shift for over a year. Transitioned to the UltraSeal department to learn and gain exposure and knowledge of an additional department.• Built and maintained relationships with employees, facilitating an environment for growth and development. Provided direction, coaching, training, and accountability as needed.• Scheduled operations and maintenance support of 24/7 UltraSeal department. o 7 manufacturing lines (including heat seal, conversion presses, and valve line)• Leader of Focused Improvement Pillar Team. o Analyzed data, led and participated in projects to improve the process and procedures of the plant.• Filled in as Production Scheduler for Press & Metal Processing Department due to COVID retirement. o 22 manufacturing lines (including coil shearing, sheet shearing, sheet coating, and conversion presses)• Key member of the Quality Pillar Team.  Balance work flow between Seneca Branch and ITRON office with completion of the following:• Conduct orientations (small and large groups) for new hires: Processing all paperwork (drug screenings, background checks, new hire guidelines and direct deposit setup info.)• Assist with processing ITRON Temporary Associates and Co-Ops payroll weekly; ensuring accuracy of direct deposit funds.• Administer ESD testing onsite for all new hires.• Site tours for all new hires.• Ensure efficiency and accuracy of all employees being assigned to job orders per the client specifications.• Process and file W-4s, I-9s, EEOs and medical releases for active employees.• Data entry with proper documentation for all employees using in-house operating system –Avionte’.• Recruitment for ITRON open requests/placements.
