The mysteries and delights of how learning happens have motivated me for decades as a learning professional. Fostering effective, equitable education for all learners has been a driving force throughout my careers in education and publishing. Belief such success depends on excellent instruction, curriculum, and support has focused my work on professional learning, transformational leadership, and whole-system change.As an educator, I taught math and science, administered school district curriculum, instruction, and professional development, and co-founded the Shoreline Teacher Development Center, earning recognition as an Apple Distinguished Educator and National Faculty/Smithsonian Fellow. My nonprofit work has included development of innovative schools in Taiwan, educator peer coaching networks throughout Latin America and Asia, and educator skills assessment and accreditation with a global partnership of education agencies. At Microsoft, I published professional learning for the company’s $150M+ training business. I continue similar work today by providing entrepreneurial services for private sector professional learning.Learning and technology change the world. As a teacher, publisher, school administrator, international consultant, and author, I continue to be thrilled to contribute to the cause.
