I choose law as a career well into my college education. In pursuit of a business degree with my eye on becoming a tax or business planner, I was fortunate enough to study under an excellent history and political science professor who was particularly adept at identifying each student’s career potential. This professor guided me toward law believing that even if I did choose tax or business planning, law would be an excellent foundation for either. Under his advice, I completed a law internship where I spent about six weeks auditing trials and feeding a new-found interest in litigation. In my second year of law school, I became involved in a defender program and was fortunate enough to participate in trials as a litigator, which further cemented my interest in pursing this as a long-term career goal. Post college, I worked as a law clerk closely with a DA, who had early on identified my propensity for litigation. Years later, this same DA became my partner in a small two-man firm preceding my positions as counsel with Bond & Morris, Overturf & McGath, and now Eason-Rohde.Today and as an expert litigator, I now have more than 30 years of insurance-related practice, including the role of lead counsel for more than 60 jury trials and dozens of appellate cases. I have gained extensive experience coordinating responses of clients, insurers, and in-house counsel being involved in preemptive action to prevent potential litigation as well as assisting insurers and insureds in development of policies and procedures to prevent future claims. I've thoroughly enjoyed and continue to enjoy the challenges of litigation for a wide variety of industries and clients.
