ProMods is a popular game mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2.I recovered this site back in 2016 from a full server compromise and continue to volunteer my time to help out to this day. Daily, the main ProMods website gets around ~3mil hits and in a single month transfers upwards of 100tb of traffic (mainly cached by Cloudflare). Being a free game mod, this site attracts a whole bunch of unwanted visitors who attempt to attack the infrastructure. The main infrastructure sits on Linode + OVH Cloud with Cloudflare handling the CDN / WAF side of things. This is configured to be as hands-off as possible by using automatic patching and a bunch of Cloudflare rules to handle automated mitigation of attacks, and make things fly.- Linux Systems Administration (Debian-based).- Infrastructure design / implementation.- Apache2 configuration + optimization.- Linux security hardening (mod_security, AppArmor).- WAF + CDN Management (Cloudflare).- Docker swarm.
