After graduating with a degree in biology, I joined my father in the consumer show business. He was the founder of the National Association of Consumer Shows and co-founder of O'Loughlin Trade Shows. I specialized in large feature builds, building community partnerships and reinventing consumer shows to increase attendance. I twice served on the board of the Home & Garden Show Executives International including being its president. During those years I was awarded the 2008 Horticulture Award by the Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs, as well as the 2009 Tree Steward Award and the 2010 Exemplary Citizen Award from the city of Tigard.I left the family business and am now working for Clark Public Utilities as the Environmental Sustainability Manager. I am the lead for the Pollinator Project as well as one of the utility's Stream Stewards.My spare time is spent working on habitat enhancement projects and pollinator seed trials on my farm in McMinnville. The farm is a flagship farm where we teach other landowners how to be better land stewards. I designed the entrance garden for the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve. I am on the advisory committee for the Oregon Bee Project and Oregon Bee Atlas. I am on the Washington State Pollinator Health Task Force and the Washington Bee Atlas. I am also a member of the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign Managed Lands Committee. In 2021 my brother and I won the NAPPC Farmer-Rancher Pollinator Award for the US.Specialties: I have extensive experience in event production, community building, native bee surveying, school gardens, sustainable farming education and strategic marketing.
