I have been in the Army for 18 years as a Military Police (MP) Soldier. I was Active Duty for 14 years before I joined the Army Reserve and settled down with my family in St Louis. During my Active Duty years I was in a leadership role for 10 years as a Non-Commissioned Officer. A lot of military leadership is directly related to Human Resources. During my career I have served as a representative for Equal Opportunity, SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Response Program), Master Resiliency Trainer and helped to cultivate an environment that is inclusive to everyone while maintaining mission readiness and giving soldiers the opportunity to enhance their career. I served as a gunner, driver, team and squad leader as well as a Drill Sergeant for 3 years, Land/Ammo and Training NCO in Korea, and an ROTC Instructor at Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY.I spent 14 months in the civilian world working a few different jobs. I was a Facility Manager for Leadec Corp at the Wentzville Auto Assembly Plant for General Motors for a few months. Also spent some time as a Dock Supervisor with FedEx Freight in St Charles, Missouri. Honestly, I was not ready to be out of the Army. While I did work well in my environments I felt like I was missing being in uniform.The Army Reserve offered me a full time position, Active Guard Reserve (AGR), and now I am back in uniform. Stationed in Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri working as the Operations Sergeant for the Deputy Assistant Commandant-United States Army Reserve (DAC-USAR) in the MP School.Currently I handle the day to day affairs of the DAC-USAR, meeting prep, maintaining appointments and schedules, work as a liaison between the Army Reserve Military Police Soldiers and the MP Schoolhouse. I also counsel Army Reserve Soldiers in Basic Training and help out Command Teams at the Company, Battalion, and Brigade level with unique Army Reserve related issues.
