I am a recent Master's graduate from The University of Tennessee with a passion in control systems design for hybrid electric vehicles. - I am a driven individual that constantly pursues learning and enjoys innovating new things.- I enjoy teamwork with motivated individuals that have the passion and drive to innovate.- I strive to be the best at what I do and take ownership of my workI have always enjoyed working on, driving, and learning about all different types of vehicles. Recently my concentration is in advanced hybrid and all-electric vehicles due to my involvement with the EcoCAR2 competition, specifically in supervisory control systems development. Throughout the two years of my involvement with EcoCAR2, I developed vehicle models and performed virtual simulations of our control strategy to verify safe operation before in-vehicle testing was done for additional calibration. I also conducted bench testing of electric machines, lithium battery packs, and additional high voltage components such as DC-DC converters and high voltage air conditioning. Knowledge from component bench testing allowed me to develop software to emulate the electronic control units of these components (soft-ECUs). These soft-ECUs provided necessary robustness for verifying control system operation.I aided in installing additional controller area network (CAN) communication within the vehicle for the additional hybrid components. These communication networks were necessary for our supervisory controller to properly command the hybrid components. Additionally, these CAN channels were used to interface via computer with each component's on-board memory for firmware calibration and signal verification.
