Manages overall process and reliability of three recovery boilers, a waste wood boiler, a natural gas boiler, two sets of evaporators, three turbine generators, a water treatment facility, and a waste wood management facility.• Supervised training program, which resulted in one employee earning his Arkansas Boiler Operator’s License and two employees qualifying for jobs of greater responsibility.

Operated as technical assistance for the paper mill’s power and recovery department. Collected and analyzed data in order to assist in troubleshooting quality and process issues. Managed and monitored all trials in or affecting the power and recovery department. Worked with operations managers to assist production in any way possible.• Assisted in planning and developing a new milk of lime water treatment system for the facilities water treatment center. If implemented it will result in an estimated $1.1 million annual savings.• Developed an Excel program to easily track and record monthly energy related key operating procedures. Assisted the production team in analyzing trends and developing plans for future energy cost savings projects.• Completed a lean and six sigma green belt course, and using learned skills to improve department’s tall oil soap production increasing revenue by an estimated $75,000 annually.

Chief operations officer and second-in- command of a headquarters infantry company consisting of 190 personnel and $34 million in equipment. Managed all maintenance, logistics, and training support functions of the company. Supervised the activities of four company support sections. Served as the commander of a rear detachment company consisting of 120 personnel for 9 months.• Developed and supervised accountability procedures to move over 2,500 pieces of equipment to a new battalion headquarters building. Completed move in 3 days and was first battalion in the brigade to return to full functionality.• Created a series of professional development classes for junior soldiers on leadership, which resulted in seven soldiers graduating from their respective rank’s leadership courses and two to be selected to attend Officer Candidate School.• Designed and executed a system to identify, load, ship, and account for all equipment required for a battalion headquarters 9 month deployment to Afghanistan.

Managed all maintenance, logistics, and training support functions of the company. Supervised the activities of four company support sections.• Managed the implementation of a new army communications systems worth over $3 million. Developed maintenance and training procedures to ensure a normal operational readiness rating of over 90% for the new equipment.• Analyzed, developed, and incorporated company’s physical security and command supply discipline program correcting 95% of the company’s deficiencies and improving a “failing” rating to a “passing” rating.• Rated in the top 20% of 26 lieutenants on the annual rating. Recommended for accelerated promotion.

Led an infantry platoon comprised of 39 members. Planned, coordinated, and conducted a comprehensive training program to prepare platoon for a variety of operations. Developed, mentored, and counseled report personnel to forge a cohesive and effective team. Served as an adviser to an Afghan National Army (ANA) battalion communications officer on a 13 member Security Force Advise and Assist Team. • Developed a simple injured soldier reporting procedure in English, Dari, and Pashto for both U.S. and Afghan soldiers and conducted training on the procedure. Resulted in a 25% decrease in time required to request a medical evacuation helicopter.• Established an Afghan National Army battalion operations center. Increased the ability of the Afghan battalion commander to command and control elements across two provinces in Afghanistan.• Rated in the top 10% of 35 lieutenants on the annual rating.
