I've dedicated my career to fire prevention; a field that I'm very passionate about. After obtaining a degree in Fire Protection and Safety Technology from Oklahoma State University. I've worked as a fire inspector, plan reviewer, and fire marshal. As fire marshal, I oversee fire inspections, public education, and fire investigations. This has allowed me an opportunity to develop a comprehensive fire prevention and community risk reduction program with the village.I have achieved a number of certifications through the International Code Council, National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Arson Investigators, and Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. I have been a board member for the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association since 2020; serving as the President in 2023. I am also an instructor for the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association. I am a principal committee member for NFPA's Explosion Protection Systems Committee, which oversees development of NFPA 67, 68 and 69.
