Description: I worked through the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a behavioral aide and care taker for two boys with autism. I was certified through the board after taking intense courses and receiving extensive training. I worked directly with the family of the two boys to determine their goals for their children and what I could do to help. I worked with the boys on their school work, social skills, household chores and other necessities of life. I briefed the family weekly on the boy’s progress. Kept reports and data entry as well as filing records. Provided supervisor with written letters and memos pertaining to official business and keep record of travel expenses as well as time keeping. Accomplishments: Worked with the boys over a long period of time and was able to see their progression over the years and I was able to see my hard work and dedication pay off. I watched the boys social behaviors improve as they applied the skills and knowledge I’d taught them to their everyday life. Their advancement in school was also evident from my work with the boys as I was able to help lead them to earning their High School Diploma.
