During my career, I have worked as a planner in the public sector at the local, state and federal levels of government; as a lawyer in private practice and as in-house counsel for both private and non-profit companies; as a developer of industrial, commercial and residential projects in both private and non-profit settings; and as a university graduate school professor and administrator.As a real estate executive, I have directed a $1.5 billion company with offices nationwide, annual production of 3 million square feet of office and industrial projects, and affiliated construction and property management companies. In addition I also was responsible for all development activities of a statewide non-profit that built and renovated affordable housing. As a consultant, I have worked with public and private clients planning and implementing complex, mixed-use projects and sports facilities including the $450 million University of Phoenix Stadium (which was named by Sports Illustrated as the best new stadium in the 2000s) and cbd101, a fully permitted $1.2 billion, mixed-use project in Arizona.As an attorney, I have represented municipal and private clients in matters ranging from large scale, mixed-use development projects, development of professional sports facilities, financing all types of development, commercial and industrial leasing, the formation of joint ventures, and acquisitions and sales of virtually every building type.As a planner, I have prepared and implemented master plans, land use and development management ordinances, and agricultural land preservation programs.As a professor, I taught for more than a decade in masters programs at NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate and also served as the director of academic affairs for graduate programs.
