Working with both the Houston and Chinese based design and manufacturing groups, developed the EPCI Gantt charts and "S"-curves. Assisted in publishing monthly reports to corporate offices in Houston and on-site client representative. Participated in all major project discussions to ensure continuity of efforts ensuring published schedules were maintained. When necessary assisted in the development of the recovery plans to maintain compliance with delivery schedule and financial milestones. Part of project team interviewing prospective Chinese nationals for long term project staff positions.

Responsible for Chevron Kuito Phase 1A and 1B surface and sub-sea supplied control equipment manufactured in Houston. Met with appropriate department staff to explain the project schedule and individual responsibilities for the various phases of the program. Managed the project to ensure scheduled activities were completed in accordance with project goals. Assisted department managers in identifying and resolving scheduling issues. In addition to the monthly corporate project meeting, led weekly progress meetings with engineering, purchasing and manufacturing departments to monitor progress against the published schedule.

Managed $ 5MM Electrical Enclosure division of Petrolite Corp. As Operations Manager responsibilities included in-house and out-sourced manufacturing operations. Direct reports were engineering, manufacturing, production scheduling and purchasing. As Engineering Manager supervised both R & D and production engineering activities supporting custom designed electrical enclosures and skid mounted control buildings.

- Engineering Services Manager (Mechanical & Electrical Drafting, Document Control and in-house off-set printing operations)- New product R&D Mechanical Designer - Mechanical Drafting Supervisor (BOP Closing Systems) Mechanical designer of high voltage variable frequency AC drive (VFD) systems used to control large motor / compressor installations for both land and offshore applications. Senior mechanical designer in special projects group responsible for the development of RHCC’s first industrial high voltage, water-cooled SCR bridges and closed loop liquid cooling system. Performed design and structural analysis of skid-based, air-conditioned MCC control buildings. As Engineering Services Manager direct reports were: mechanical drafting, electrical drafting, document control functions and in-house offset printing operations.

Responsible for the design and sea proving trials of offshore structures including large fully automated navigational buoys and mooring systems. Designed multi-layer printed circuit board track layouts. Member of research team to develop first modular encapsulated solar array power systems. Supervised off shore trials of large navigational buoys, navigational aids equipment and telemetry systems.

Trained in a broad spectrum of manufacturing techniques by serving an indentured five-year mechanical technician’s apprenticeship at a large industrial company (Stone Chance Ltd) in England. This apprenticeship included hands-on shop floor training through out the company's manufacturing and office departments. These departments included: heavy and light machine shop; instrumentation / wiring; welding; mechanical assembly shops; final test; quality control and design drafting departments. During that time I attended advanced mechanical engineering college classes (one full day and two evenings per week) for the full five-year apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of my apprenticeship and college courses I was awarded a scholarship to attend university full time to work for my bachelors in mechanical engineering. I returned to my sponsoring company being employed as a drafting supervisor in the mechanical drafting department and then as a member of the offshore equipment development group.I emigrated to the USA in 1976 to work for Tideland Signal Inc., located in Houston Texas. Assigned to the offshore equipment design group my task was to insure that the Houston based navigational aids equipment complied with BASEEFA (British Approvals Service for Equipment for Flammable Atmospheres), which is a British certification body certifying equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.After successful completion of my first project I was offered a permanent position at the company corporate head quarters in Houston. The same company also sponsored my successful permanent working /residency status in the USA.
