As a content development manager for internal and external communications, I support the website, brochures and fact sheets, scripts, social media, member communications for this Medicaid health plan in Michigan. I help to submit content and marketing materials approved through state compliance. Additionally, I support the community outreach team with strategic planning, content and other marketing activities around Michigan.

This position is reflective of my personal work for individual businesses and non-profits, agencies and journalistic outlets on a project or content basis. It has included everything from strategic marketing and marketing communications to content and brand development, media relations and more. Was responsible for overseeing and executing all marketing activities for a 6-cemetery non-profit cemetery in Southeastern Michigan. In this role I managed an annual marketing budget of over $800,000 on average, and was part of the executive team that experienced record revenue years 6 out of the 9 years I served in this role. Marketing activities brand management, digital marketing, event management, direct and email marketing campaigns, public relations, and much more. I never would have thought I'd be working nine years in the "death care" industry but it was rewarding.

Starting as a contractor in January 2009, I began a full-time role in September 2009. Here I was responsible for the strategic marketing efforts for this growing market research firm working with mid-sized and large clients in such industries as automotive, healthcare, financial services and retail. This included overseeing company branding, marketing communications, content development, website management, event planning and more.

My work here included all marketing-related firm functions, including strategic marketing, marketing communications and public relations, staff training, copywriting, brand management, graphic and brochure design, website project management and more.

I was responsible for strategic and direct marketing, marketing communications and event planning for a variety of internal and external combustion engine products and fuel cells for DTE Energy.

This is a job I really enjoyed, and since leaving the DMC I have done some contract work for my former boss. I worked at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital and was responsible for a variety of strategic marketing, direct marketing and marketing communications roles. I wrote and edited the hospital's annual directory, was a content manager for its website and was responsible for media relations at HVSH.
