Director Of Community Education
CurrentLead one of the largest public school lifelong learning programs in North America, which provides programs and services to enhance the quality of life for a district resident population of 250,000+. Responsible for execution of annual $13+ million budget and employing more than 400 staff across multiple locations and program areas. Daily responsibilities include planning and business development, budget development and oversight, thought leadership, research of industry trends and relationship building. Ensure programs and services connect the school districts to the community while providing support to the overall mission of both districts.Key Accomplishments◦ Initiated and led formation of Community Ed partnership in 2014 between the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts, which entailed a multi-year planning process and extensive communication and engagement among multiple stakeholders. Prior to July 2014, served as Director of Community Ed for Rockwood School District.◦ Program is self-funded requiring the consistent delivery of high quality, fee-based programs and ongoing budget oversight to ensure financial viability. Program has realized over 100% revenue growth during my tenure, and now serves more than 50,000 participants per year.◦ Streamlined operations across the department, resulting in increased efficiencies and an improve customer experience for internal and external audiences. Examples include centralizing operations and instituting improved electronic services for customers.◦ Program is recognized as a leader in lifelong learning among public schools across North America.◦ Under my leadership, program has been recipient of multiple awards, including East-West Gateway Council of Governments 2014 Outstanding Local Government Achievement Award for Exemplary Intergovernmental Collaboration and the Learning Resources Network 2014 International Award for Innovative Practice in Business and Industry.
