I also supported internal and external communications and worked closely with the Communications Manager to handle press and media inquiries. I worked as a Creative Director on a variety of projects ranging from print design packages, to fully fledged documentaries and commercial productions.

I worked as a graphics designer and web designer for Emergent Global, a company that is involved in a variety of activities from trade facilitation to promotion and web design. I was part of the team that worked on a variety of projects that involved the design and implementation of paper-based graphic design as well as web design projects. Apart from that I also wrote articles for the Addis Connexion magazine and its web counterpart.

Smooth Stone Advertising was a company that specialized in the promotion and advertising work, and in it, I was responsible for creating the various designs that the company made for its clients, from business cards to front page covers and various other types publications. I was also part of the creative team which was responsible for the design and upload of the company's website.

In this position, I was responsible for managing the overall designs created by Mekdim Technologies, from posters to software interfaces. I also participated in big software projects namely CDC-E Intranet Project as well as the dynamic website design for Ministry Of Defense's Health Department. I also co-supervised the working process of the information portal www.mekdim.net. In addition, I was also the main editor of all interoffice as well as other relevant documents pertaining to the company's interest.

As a freelancer, I designed various paper-based designs from business cards to posters. I was also working as a freelance writer where I was able to have various articles published in local newspapers and magazines. Through this experience, I improved my knowledge of design software especially Adobe Photoshop, whilst also having the opportunity to design web templates thus having working knowledge of web authoring and web design software.

In this position, I was responsible in providing articles that were entertaining as well as culturally oriented, and with my position as Production Assistant, I assisted the Editors in the various aspects that are concerned with putting out the weekly entertainment related newspaper TIMEOUT Addis Ababa.

In this position, I was responsible for assisting in all the necessary places that were related to the design for numerous paper-based Ads made by the company. In addition, I helped in drafting preliminary versions of various types of technical drawings with Auto CAD software. During my stay, I learned to use various types of design software from Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Freehand to various versions of AutoCAD.
